multi.trudi contest for laptop music 1.0

multi.trudi is such a small place that even a normal DJs with turntables, mixer and records would hardly fit into it.
But a laptop-computer musician could very well position him/herself into a corner and play music from the laptop-computer.

Music performances from laptop-computers has become more and more popular, and as well a quite normal picture on festivals for elctronic music. However these musicians act isolated from each other, which makes it difficult to esteem what quality laptop-music has already reached.
The right answer to this is a contest specialised on the field of laptop-music.
The size of multi.trudi will provide an excellent sourrounding for such a contest.

Die Regeln

(1) Teilnahmeberechtigt ist jede/r, die/der Musik von einem Laptop aus spielt. Auf bestimmte Programme oder Software kommt es nicht an.

(2) Jede/r TeilnehmerIn hat zu Beginn des Wettbewerbs eine Startgebühr in Höhe von DM 20 bar zu entrichten.

(3) Es sind ausschließlich Laptops zugelassen. Möglich sind auch Handhelds, Palmtops oder Spielekonsolen. Es dürfen keine externen Controller oder Klangbearbeitungsgeräte eingesetzt werden. Einzige Ausnahme: eine Maus.

(4) Die Musik kann unter Zuhilfenahme von CDs erzeugt werden. Diese müssen sich im Laptop befinden.

(5) Die Dauer der Performance richtet sich nach der Anzahl der TeilnehmerInnen. 20-30min sind als Minimum möglich.

(6) Über die Qualität der Darbietungen urteilt das Publikum.

(7) Alle Beiträge werden auf DAT mitgeschnitten. Die Verwertungsrechte gehen an die multi.trudi AG über. Die multi.trudi AG wird einen Sampler aller Beiträge erstellen.

(8) Jede/r TeilnehmerIn erhält eine Urkunde, sowie eine CD ihres Beitrages und den Wettbewerbs-Sampler.
Die Stiftung eines besonderen Preises ist noch möglich.

Rules

(1) Everybody may participate who plays music from a laptop computer. No specific software or hardware required.

(2) Each participant has to pay an entrance fee of DM 20 in cash.

(3) Only laptop computers are allowed. Handhelds, Palmtops or game consoles are possible, too. No external controllers or effect devices are allowed. Exception: a mouse.

(4) The music may produced with the help of CDs. These have to stick within the laptop computer.

(5) The duration of the individual performance may vary due to the number of participants. Minimum of 20/30 min is guaranteed.

(6) The quality of the performances may be judged by the audience.

(7) Each performance will be recorded on to DAT. The right to use these recordings goes over to the multi.trudi AG. The rights of authorship stay untouched.
The multi.trudi AG will produce a contest sampler CD.

(8) Each participant receives a certificate of participance, a CD recording of his/her performance and the contest sampler CD.
A specific price will be possible.
